I used book 8 of Lisa Sabin-Wilson’s WordPress All-in-One For Dummies for initial guidance at setting up multsite.
I had to spend considerable time working out DNS issues so that the subsidiary sites could be reached. I did not find any way to make them accessible from the local network.
Today I am just making a few posts so the sites are not quite so empty.
